Blending maritime essentials with cruise and yachting
Embracing the new era and looking forward to 2019

【Hong Kong – 25 November 2018】The first-ever festival, International Cruise and Yachting Festival (Hong Kong) 2018 (ICYFHK 2018) organized by Hong Kong Cruise & Yacht Industry Association (HKCYIA), held at the China Merchants Wharf (CMW) in the Western – Main Venue from 22 to 25 November 2018. The festival included Opening Ceremony in CMW and Opening Dinner in Central Pier 7 Watermark on 22 November, Conference and Forum in Central Pier 8 the Hong Kong Maritime Museum (HKMM) and Italian Night in CMW on 23 November and Information Day in HKCYIA office (The Kai Tak Cruise Terminal) from 23 to 24 November. Advanced online registration of all programs are required.

The festival opening was leaded by Hong Kong Sea School Marching and lit up by six guests, including Ms. Kara Yeung – Executive Director of Hong Kong Cruise & Yacht Association, Mr. Zheng Weihang – Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association, Mr. Li JinYi – Assistant General Manager of China Merchants Godown, Wharf & Transportation Co., Ltd., Ms. Tenmy Kong – Senior Vice President of DBS Private Bank, Mr. Leo Poon – Vice President of Breguet HK and Macau, and Mr Cowen B C Chiu, MH – President of Board of Management of Hong Kong Sea School & Committee Member of Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong to witness the new milestone of the Hong Kong cruise and yacht industry.

Aims of the organiser are raising public awareness of the cruise and yachting industries and promoting the trades in the Greater Bay Area. With the full support of sponsors, partners and exhibitors, ICYFHK 2018 brings together yachts & cruise, water sports, lifestyle, tourism and cruise & yachting career opportunities through exhibition, conference and forums to let guests of all ages experience the lure of the sea.

The first step of this year, ICYFHK2018 was consummated and still has to improve, but it is significance to the cruise and yacht industry of China and Hong Kong. The organisers look forward to the International Cruise and Yacht Festival (Hong Kong) 2019 and the confidence of all parties.

At China Merchants Wharf – Festival Main Venue
11:00 – 20:00 on 22 – 25 November 2018

Exhibition – Luxurious Yachts
In the Festival Main Venue, luxury yacht brands showcased a number of yachts on land. Asia Yachting Ltd. exhibited Prestige 520, Monterey 224FS、Nautique GS22 and Scarab Jet Boat 165. Prestige 520 intergrades all features of new model of PRESTIGE collection which offers multiple zones for relaxing in comfort.

Tullio Abbate Group Srl, was established in 1875, showcased Mito 33’ and Elite 27’ in the festival. Since they won a number of European rowing race, they have become one of the leader of Rowing Manufacturing Factory in Europe and also manufactured rowing with Ferrari, Lamborghini and AMG Factory in cooperation.

Columbus Yachts Ltd. exhibited PEGAZUS 560 and TEXAS 490 in the festival . PEGAZUS 560 is specially designed for fishing enthusiast, with eight fishing rod holders and live fish storage boxes.

Exhibition – Luxurious Concepts
FIPA Group Asia Pacific, in cooperation with the CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, provided professional made-to-order yacht information on-site for visitors.

OMNIA MARINE Co.,Ltd., Italian yacht brand in Europe, introduced the signature yacht – Sessa FLY42 of Sessa Marine Collection which is blended by simplicity and practicality of American yachts and the style and quality of Italian yachts.
NextWave Yachting showcased some popular water sports equipment, including underwater scooters, water motorcycles, electric hydrofoil surfboards, electric surfboards and water bouncers.

Marine Link Machinery Co., Ltd., an authorized distributor of MAN High Speed Marine Engines and KOHLER Marine Generators, displayed some yacht engines.
Seakeeper Inc. showcased its ground-breaking gyro stabilizer – Seakeeper 3.

Ocean Blue Marine Co. Ltd. provided information on yacht repair and maintenance services.
MovingShow can let players experience underwater world with its 5D dynamic virtual reality scuba diving simulator.

At the same time, five supercars were also displayed, including (i) Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo, (ii) Lamborghini Huracan Performante Coupe, (iii) Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, (iv) a unit of special Pagani Huayra Dinastia. The Huayra Dinastia, which is limited to production of three units worldwide, was turn heads.

COLOURLIVING displayed its unique line of luxurious Paola Lenti furniture and rugs crafted from natural wool felt for indoor and outdoor environments that brings personality, happiness and lifestyle to yachting.

VIP Events
Opening Ceremony (at China Merchants Wharf in the Western)

Ms. Kara YEUNG, Executive Director of HKCYIA, delivered a welcoming speech and rolled out her future development plan at the occasion.

Opening Dinner (at Watermark, Central Pier 7)
starting at 18:00 on 22 November 2018 (Thursday)
Guests by invitation attended the official opening dinner at Watermark with spectacular 270° panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour.

Conference (At the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, Central Pier 8)
09:30 – 17:30 on 23 November 2018 (Friday)
Forums and discussions, focusing on yachting topics and industrial development, were held by overseas and local industrial practitioners. Furthermore, guests witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony that MoUs between HKCYIA and several overseas yachting associations were sealed.

Italian Night (at China Merchants Wharf in the Western)
18:00 – 21:00 on 23 November 2018 (Friday)
Guests by invitation attended the Italy Night; DJ Copan Kasten, the Rising Star in Asia, took the stage.

International Cruise Industry Information Seminar & Information Day (at Office of HKCYIA, The Kai Tak Cruise Terminal)
11:00 – 12:30 and 15:00 – 16:30 hours on 23 November 2018 & 14:00 – 17:00 hours on 24 November 2018

This seminar on cruise industry career prospects and progressions was held at HKCYIA office on 23 November; it was designated for academic groups or institutions. Information day on cruise industry career prospects and progressions was also held at HKCYIA office on 24 November; it was designated for the general public.

STCW Training Information Day (at Maritime Service Training Institute)
10:00 – 16:30 hours on 23 – 24 November 2018
Information Day of STCW training was made readily available at Maritime Service Training Institute (MSTI) during the MSTI Open Days on 23 November.
